Sound Leads Us To Our True Nature Burry a diamond beneath miles of garbage for no matter how long and it remains a diamond. Smash it and the pieces retain all the intrinsic qualities of a diamond. Not unlike ourselves. We come into the world as we depart from it with our diamond selves intact. Our task is to remove the layers of illusion preventing us from experiencing ourselves in this manner. For most of us, this requires an ‘awakening’ and working with the Tibetan Bowls and other forms of Sacred Sound creates a path that re-awakens in us what is already there. Perfection. Although it is possible to awaken in a moment, most of us require a more gradual road. This journey of healing involves owning our pain and suffering, (vs. disowning it), shifting our perspective to allow us to see the teaching it has brought us – irregardless of the package it came in, and creating space within ourselves to heal, allowing our True Nature to blossom. The sound of the bowls gently nudge us back into alignment with our True Nature and the natural flow of the universe. Playing them daily, focusing on their sound as it dissipates, sensing where their vibrations travel within us; all this is part of a practice that leads to awakening. It isn’t easy to stay in alignment for long. Our world is filled with diversions that seduce us onto paths that don’t support our greater good. Establishing a regular practice of sound meditation with the bowls strengthens our psychic muscle, so to speak, in staying in alignment for longer and longer periods of time. http://www.soundenergyhealing.com

Sound Healing Question: If my client begins to cough while I play a deep bowl on her chest, what should I do? There is no absolute right answer to this one because each case is different. Hypothetically,here is what I might do: Stay calm while creating the intention of stable breathing for the client. I would gently lift her head with one hand, place a hand on her heart and invite her to breath slowly with the focus on the exhale, guiding her with my words. As the coughing subsides I would then place a bowl at her feet to ground her. If coughing persists, I would offer a sip of water, then resume the session grounding her by touching her feet, using the foot bowl and then sing the bowl as I walk around her body clockwise. On a symbolic level there is certainly something to work with as well. Often, in women, there is a corrolation between the 2nd and throat chakra so I would work with the client to help her release the energetic blocks in her 2nd chakra. Finally, I might return to the area that catalyzed the coughing to begin with and gently sing the bowl just above that area. SEND IN YOUR QUESTIONS, FEEDBACK AND OBSERVATIONS !
