Space Clearing With Sound Space clearing is such a profound way to shift the energy in a space in a manner that can produce astonishing results. Some of the effective uses of space clearing include: for realtors if a house is not selling, for offices where productivity or motivation is low, for rooms in which an argument lingers, for those moving into a new home or office place of worship, for the blessing and intention setting of a new temple, museum or community center , in a space where a trauma, divorce or death has occurred, for initiating a new idea that will happen in that space, for a generalized clearing of a home or office.. and more. People often say they want help clearing out negative energy. Space clearing with sound does that - sort of. For me rather than a pushing out of unwanted energy, it is more about charging the space with an elevated frequency of energy for the stuck or negative energies to align to with words and sound. Yes, there is a ritual involved that purges the space of energies unwilling to shift into a higher place, but much of the ceremony is about awakening the energy of community, truth and compassion ( from the sound of the tingsha's) getting clear on what will be energized into the space, re-balancing the space ( via the sound of the bowls) and expressing gratitude for your hearts desire in the space as a done deal. It is to create, through ritual and sound ( including words) a harmonious frequency for any dissonance to align with.. And the alignment from dissonant to harmonious is a natural process. Sound Pilgrimage to New Zealand As you may know, I had the privilege of spending a few weeks on South Island in New Zealand recently. It is an island abundant with natural resources unspoiled by development. The regulations concerning land and the preservation of ecology are strong there so the experience of nature is pure. South island is vast stretches of lush mountains, seas, rivers, lakes, forests and glaciers populated only by sheep, bovines, exotic birds and gentle insects. Many travelers recall places they have been by a great restaurant or a hotel. For me South Island was a pilgrimage in sound without the noise of technology to disturb the peaceful chaotic musings of the birds, insects, breezes and waters. Each sound awakening a different emotion and texture of being-ness that contributed to its symphony. Akaroa was the singular melodic song of the morning bird and the peeping tree frogs at night, Keplar Track the unceasing high pitched twill of crickets, gurgling brooks and intermittent chirping of small birds; Pancake Rocks the powerful slapping of sea water against the blow holes; Milford Sound, the rushing waterfalls, cry of the gulls and squawk of yellow horned penguins molting and burrowing in the bush surrounded by the Tazman Sea. Squawking, chirping, calling ,crying, screeching, whistling, rattling, chattering, rustling, pecking, honking, quacking, honking, whooping, hooting, droning, swarming, and buzzing sounds created the textured impressions of these wonderful places. I believe that my years of working with the Tibetan bowls has greatly enhanced my awareness of sound and ability to listen to and hear nuances. It is springtime in America; a time of rich sounds right here.
